Culture Night 2019
Following a very successful 2019 Arts Festival in July, Mallow Arts Collective were pleased to announce a number of events to be held on 'Culture Night 2019' which falls this coming Friday September 20th...
An afternoon of Music, Poetry and Song will be held in Mallow Library from 3pm and there will be a number of events in the newly opened West End Arts Studio which get under way from 6pm.
A highlight of the evening there will be the very humorous Robert Gogan show "Strolling Through Ulysses" which will begin at 8pm. This is an amusing run through some of the characters and incidents from Joyce's masterpiece and aimed at all those who have not yet managed to read the book.
Art and cinema presentations will also feature in the West End Arts Studio with experimental shorts and music videos presented by Ger Browne.
At 10pm in O Keeffes Bar Main St, approximately 30 local singers will take part in "Every Song has a Name, Every Name has a Song". The 30 singers have randomly drawn a well known Christian Name and must find and learn off a song featuring that name , before they return to perform it on Culture Night.!
All of these events are free of charge and the Arts Collective are hoping that they will all be well supported and bring a bit of a buzz to the town on Culture Night!!
