Munster Maths & Science Family Fair 2022, Its here (almost!)
This coming Sunday October 16th at the indoor Mallow GAA Complex promises to be a fun day out for all the family at the annual Munster Maths and Science Family Fair. It’s free to visit the event and doors open at 11 AM to see and enjoy the more than 50 exhibitors on show until 4 PM.
With old favourites returning mixed with exciting new exhibitors, visitors will get to experience mind-blowing experiments, amazing demonstrations, cutting-edge presentations and even partake in contests to win prizes.
GLOBE Ireland, exhibiting for the first time this year will have their infrared thermometer probe, allowing visitors to attempt to find the warmest and coolest surface temperature outside the exhibit. Prizes will be on offer to the most successful entrants!
As usual there are messy Outdoor Experiments and Demonstrations galore scheduled throughout the day. Visitors can enjoy rockets, drones and much, much more starting at 11.30am and scheduled for every 30 minutes afterwards. You can even learn how to do outdoor cloud observations using data from NASA satellites passing overhead!
Other new features at this year’s event include Bioeconomy Ireland's scheduled talk for secondary level students, as well as a question and answer session on astronomy with Ambassador Gray of Australia.
Sharing the floor with so many leaders of industry are local schools to the North Cork Area but we are also pleased to welcome schools from further afield for the first time as the fair grows in stature year on year.
This is the 10th event in the annual series and so a special anniversary for us. So come on down, join in the fun, and remember it's all FREE to enjoy.
The Munster Maths and Science Family Fair is organised by volunteers through Mallow Development Partnership. It is sponsored by Cork County Council's Economic Development Fund and generously supported by Irish American Partnership as well as Mallow Credit Union.
